Willsie was a tough offensive player with good two-way skills. He was a hard worker with a great attitude and a versatile player who could be used in a variety of roles. Despite often being used as a winger, Willsie could play all forward positions. His primary asset was a strong shot which combined with good goal-scorer's instincts made him a reliable finisher.
