Danny Gare was selected 29th overall in 1974 after scoring 127 points with the Calgary Centennials. He debuted with Buffalo the next year and scored 31 goals and 62 points. He improved to 50 goals and 73 points in 1976 and won a Canada Cup in 1977. Gare later set career highs in 1980 with 56 goals and 89 points. He also captained the Sabres from 1978-81 and the Red Wings from 1983-86. The 2x All-Star retired in 1987 with 354 goals and 331 assists.
