Stor defensiv backklippa hos Västerås IK i allsvenskan under många år. Sågs sällan i målprotokollet men ledarna i VIK visste alltid vilket fint defensivt jobb Andersson skulle prestera i match efter match.

Kallades skämtsamt av världsmästarforwarden "Nisse" Nilsson för "magneten" då han ansåg det vara näst intill omöjligt att ta sig förbi hans utsträckta armar utan i stället drogs in till Andersson.
